“Bob M”
The “Rasta Prophet” screamed on to the American charts in 1977 with the legendary “Exodus” album, giving much of the world it’s first full taste of reggae music. Already an established artist with four albums to his credit, reggae music and Bob Marley were welcomed with open arms. Marley was not one of the flash and glitter performer of that time. Quite the opposite as a political activist, the Jamaican born artist became known for delivering socially relevant messages in his music. Diagnosed with cancer after his 1980 European tour, the disease quickly took the life of the man but his legend became even larger than life. A national treasure to the people of Jamaica, his music and his memory are eternal.
“Bob M” is not the late legendary performer, Bob Marley. If you look very, very closely, you may notice that he is actually a duck imitating one of the legendary Marley concert poses. Arms outstretched and dapper in his beaded dreads, “Bob M” is taking in the magic of the audience. “Bob M” himself is approximately 6” tall. Sculpted entirely out of polymer clay and hand painted in acrylics, he is a one-of-a-kind artwork for the collector of rock memorabilia or the consummate Bob Marley fan. Signed and dated, every Quackeree is different and unique. Although a durable artistic display piece, Quackerees are not toys and not meant to be used as such.
Bob’s stage is made of stained and finished red oak, complete with amplifier and microphone. The stage is approximately 6” x 6” x 3”. Two AAA batteries power the stage lights, with the battery pack concealed in the upright guitar case and controlled by an on/off toggle switch on the back of the case. It is magnetically attached to the stage to allow easy change of batteries when needed. The bulbs are standard 1.2 volt, easily replaceable should they ever burn out.
